To know that our sins are permanently washed away by the blood of Jesus and to know that we have God’s forgiveness permanently exercised upon us. It is awesome to know that any sins – past, present and future – are not held against us as long as we confess our sins and ask God for forgiveness. God forgives and forgets. Jesus paid the price for me and for you. And we can be happy that our names are written in the book of life. If we have unconfessed sins in our lives we cannot be happy, we are not free, and we have no peace. We are too ashamed to come before God but He took the first step toward us – all we have to do is to come close to Him, confess our sins and God makes us whole again. We can live in great peace, in spite of our outward circumstances, as long as we know that we have the favor of God upon our lives.
